BusinessU's mission is to prepare young entrepreneurs to be "shark-tank-ready" when they graduate high school. Our turn-key curriculum is standards-based, activity-based, and has been designed and vetted by business and industry professionals.
An entrepreneur sees an opportunity, creates a solution, starts a business, assumes the risk (and rewards) of the venture, and strives for constant innovation and improvement in an effort to grow the business. In Principles of Entrepreneurship, we will highlight the various aspects involved in envisioning, starting, growing, leading, and managing a business.
Marketing is a process that intends to anticipate, identify, and profitably satisfy customer demands. Marketing involves many other disciplines including psychology, economics, sociology, and technology. In Principles of Marketing, we will introduce students to these facets of Marketing and others including research, the “4 P’s”, channel management and selling.
Business is ultimately about people. Leaders/Managers navigate businesses through all the changes and obstacles a business faces in its life cycle. Competition, changing consumer demands, globalization, politics, downsizing, outsourcing, technology, raw material costs – all these and many more affect business daily. In Principles of Management, we will expose students to concepts that effective managers use for decision-making, planning, organizing, and other aspects of management.
Roles in Finance aren’t only about numbers; they require interpersonal skills as well. Finance personnel are critical to the team’s function. The world of Finance includes many disciplines. In Principles of Finance, we familiarize students with many aspects of finance, including accounting and various financial services like banking, insurance, and securities and investments.
Business & Marketing Essentials introduces students to the various functional areas of business, including marketing, economics, finance, operations, accounting, ethics, human-resources management, technology, information management, and strategic management.
In the United States 57% of adults are financially illiterate (62% of men, 52% of women). This is a reality that must be reversed. In Personal Finance, we cover the basics of financial literacy, and engage with students about how to make more informed, financially-sound and ethical decisions about money.
Taking Principles of Entrepreneurship to the next level, we explore entrepreneurship more deeply, and hope to better prepare students for entrepreneurial-oriented careers.
Advanced Marketing takes Principles of Marketing a step further. We dig a little deeper into marketing functions and processes, and how they directly impact the operations of a business. We study how to apply marketing principles to business.
